Making cendol in Melbourne
Summer is here now. I think it'll be nice to quench your thirst with a good cold drink. So, I decided to make cendol. This will be my addition to my kitchen :)

Angku kueh (red tortoise cake) - First trial
Phew....I finally made this kueh. I bought all the ingredients for quite a while but kept on delaying of making this. Since making this kueh is quite time consuming, I can only make it when there's no martabak order.
It took me almost 2 hours making these goodies.
There were some errors I made:
1. Instead of buying mung bean, I bought yellow split peas :( Luckily I still had a little bit of mung beans in my pantry but with skin on. According to the instruction in the internet, the skin will be easily peeled off after they are soaked overnight. Somehow I couldn't get all the skin peeled off, resulting in 'dirty' looking filling. I'll buy the peeled mung bean next time to save time.
2. I didn't mash my sweet potatoes properly which made my angku skin not really smooth.
Despite all those errors, they taste good. The skin is chewy and soft. The filling is good too, even though I can feel the skin.
Anyway, I need to look for a proper mould.
